P Gallery Sculpture is delighted to present its new group exhibition Here Comes the Sun.
Bringing together works by acclaimed artists including Simone Boisecq, Memos Makris, Eva Papadopoulou, and others, the exhibition offers a poetic exploration of the Greek summer through sculpture and related works.
Some of the exhibited pieces engage directly with the sun as a subject, while others evoke its presence through the forms, landscapes, and symbols that flourish under its influence. Eva Papadopoulou's sunflowers capture the beloved flower that instinctively turns towards the light, while Memos Makris' cacti embody resilience, thriving in conditions of intense heat and sunlight. Simone Boisecq approaches the theme more abstractly, remaining faithful to her distinctive practice of non-figurative sculpture and offering a contemplative interpretation of solar energy and form.
Liot's Icarus, which remains in the gallery following the previous exhibition, also finds renewed significance within this context. Previously presented through the lens of contemporary archaeology, the work now evokes the enduring myth of Icarus, the tragic figure of ancient Greek mythology whose desire to soar brought him fatally close to the sun.
Celebrating light, warmth, and the rich visual associations of the season, Here Comes the Sun invites visitors to experience a sculptural journey through the many meanings of summer. While the Greek heat may persist throughout the coming months, visitors can be assured that the gallery itself will remain a cool and welcoming refuge.

Η P Gallery Sculpture παρουσιάζει με χαρά τη νέα ομαδική έκθεση Here Comes the Sun.
Συγκεντρώνοντας έργα καταξιωμένων καλλιτεχνών, όπως η Simone Boisecq, ο Μέμος Μακρής, η Εύα Παπαδοπούλου και άλλοι, η έκθεση προσφέρει μια ποιητική προσέγγιση του ελληνικού καλοκαιριού μέσα από τη γλυπτική και συναφή έργα.
Ορισμένα από τα εκτιθέμενα έργα πραγματεύονται άμεσα τον ήλιο ως θέμα, ενώ άλλα υποδηλώνουν την παρουσία του μέσα από μορφές, τοπία και σύμβολα που αναπτύσσονται και ευδοκιμούν υπό την επιρροή του. Τα ηλιοτρόπια της Εύας Παπαδοπούλου αποτυπώνουν το αγαπημένο λουλούδι που στρέφεται ενστικτωδώς προς το φως, ενώ οι κάκτοι του Μέμου Μακρή ενσαρκώνουν την ανθεκτικότητα και την ικανότητα επιβίωσης σε συνθήκες έντονης ζέστης και ηλιοφάνειας. Η Simone Boisecq προσεγγίζει το θέμα πιο αφαιρετικά, παραμένοντας πιστή στη χαρακτηριστική μη παραστατική γλυπτική της πρακτική και προσφέροντας μια στοχαστική ερμηνεία της ηλιακής ενέργειας και της μορφής.
Ο Ίκαρος του Eric Liot, που παραμένει στην γκαλερί από την προηγούμενη έκθεση, αποκτά επίσης νέα σημασία μέσα σε αυτό το πλαίσιο. Ενώ προηγουμένως παρουσιαζόταν μέσα από το πρίσμα της σύγχρονης αρχαιολογίας, τώρα παραπέμπει στον διαχρονικό μύθο του Ικάρου, της τραγικής μορφής της αρχαίας ελληνικής μυθολογίας, της οποίας η επιθυμία να πετάξει την έφερε μοιραία πολύ κοντά στον ήλιο.
Γιορτάζοντας το φως, τη ζεστασιά και τους πλούσιους οπτικούς συνειρμούς της εποχής, το Here Comes the Sun προσκαλεί τους επισκέπτες σε ένα γλυπτικό ταξίδι μέσα από τις πολλαπλές σημασίες του καλοκαιριού. Και ενώ η ελληνική ζέστη θα συνεχίσει να κυριαρχεί τους επόμενους μήνες, οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να είναι βέβαιοι ότι η γκαλερί θα παραμείνει ένα δροσερό και φιλόξενο καταφύγιο.
